The exact mechanism of prazosin in bringing down blood pressure is unknown. Dose

• The dose of Prazopress XL is advised and adjusted according to your blood pressure response to the drug.
• Your doctor may advise Prazopress XL 2.5 mg or 5 mg once daily, which may be increased gradually to a total daily dose of 15 to 20 mg in divided doses.
• You must take this medicine orally with or without food, usually twice or thrice daily, or as recommended by your doctor. Take Prazopress XL tablets with food or milk to prevent upset stomach.
