Generic Ciprofloxacin is most effective among all bactericidal drugs because it completely eradicates the bacteria causing the infection.
Ciprofloxacin works by first inhibiting the growth of bacteria and then killing the bacteria. It stops the production of food (essential proteins) required by bacteria to be alive. Generic Cipro contains Ciprofloxacin as the active constituent. It works by inhibiting the enzyme DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerae, is essential for the separation of replicated Bacterial DNA. Thus, It inhibits the replication of DNA i.e. growth or spreading of the infection is stopped.
