Yes it is true that doctors prefer generic drugs over the prescription. Doctor’s mind was previously set to only prescribe the original branded drug because they use to think that generic drugs are cheap quality drugs that can cause severe side effects on the health of the patient. But, because of the FDA approvals, consumer demands, and the entry of big pharmaceutical giants in the field of generic drugs doctors have started believing in the effectiveness of generic drugs. The new phenomenon observed by the market surveyors was that the doctors who prescribe generic drugs used to get more patients than the other doctors who were prescribing the branded drugs. The main reason for this was the customer’s preference to the generic drugs. Doctors who were preferred generic drugs were earning lots of profit with no complaints from the patients.
