Japan firms to engage in stiff competition as generic Viagra arrives

Millions of men suffer from erectile dysfunction across the globe. To treat this condition people use Generic Viagra with desired results. The active ingredient present in Generic Viagra is Sildenafil citrate. There are many pharmaceutical companies that manufacture anti-impotent drugs by using the active ingredient Sildenafil citrate. Generic Viagra is manufactured by Pfizer i.e. an American multinational drug manufacturing corporation.

One of the Japan’s leading pharmaceutical companies, Towa Yakuhin, manufactures Sildenafil citrate by the name of Towa. Towa is considered as the Towa Yakuhin’s Generic Viagra. Globally, on 26^th May, Towa Yakuhin issued a Generic Viagra product by the name of Towa, which contains the same ingredient that is present in Generic Viagra.

This Japanese leading drug corporation manufactures Towa in 50 mg pills, which is available in two flavors i.e. lemon and coffee. They are selling this anti-impotent drug for 1,250 yen with a discount of 350 yen as compared to other pharmaceutical companies.

Experts say –

Renowned experts tell Shukan Jitsuwa that there would be a downfall in pricing that will hit the market soon due to arrival of cheaper alternatives to Generic Viagra. Towa Yakuhin is selling this healthcare product cheaper than other drug manufacturers.

A director of a well known clinic in Tokyo says that, with this pricing of Towa Yakuhin, there would be a flood of patients suffering from erectile dysfunction or male impotency who may switch to Towa tablets, rather than using other anti-impotent drugs of same ingredient. There will be a tough battle for survival due to break out of pricing of the anti-impotent medications.

Legally, Towa Yakuhin has released the Towa tablets. In Japan, on May 13, the patent of Generic Viagra was expired. In addition, the patent for Sildenafil citrate relapsed in the month of May of last year. After considering these legal steps, experts say that there could be a stiff competition in the market, which is expected to commence soon.

Towa Yakuhin’s – Manager’s explanation:

The manager of this Japan’s renowned pharmaceutical corporation says that after the release of Towa tablets there has been a tremendous price war. There is full-blown price war between five pharmaceutical companies that are thinking of issuing Generic Viagra.

Shukan Jitsuwa claims that the market of Generic Viagra is approximately 10 billion yen per year. Due to such high stakes, the competition is getting tough and many pharmaceutical companies are expected to quit the market.

The manager further explains that things will get more interesting in the month of July as more drug manufactures will issue the products, and he expects an intense war pricing that could be crucial to watch the moves of oppositions.

After the analysis and evaluation, the manager states that prices of anti-impotent drugs will come down with every successive release, and this can lead to dramatic downfall of Generic Viagra price.

Shukan Jitsuwa further says that undoubtedly this is an exciting news for Japan’s 18 million mid-aged men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction. They can use Towa tablets with desired effect at cheaper rates compared to other anti-impotent drugs of same ingredient (Sildenafil citrate).
