Working out an addiction is something new these days that is not limited to just drug, alcohol and substance addiction. There are other forms of addiction that are seen in the form of exercise addiction and work addiction (workaholic). Both these make the addict overdo the task and at the same time leaves the person extremely exhausted. Indeed exercise, is a widely promoted thing noted for giving good health as well as fit body.
On the contrary one must also understand that too much of anything, be it good or bad is equally unhealthy and the source of a problem causer in many situations. Exercise and workouts are all good when the one who does it takes enough of rest and relaxation before doing it. On the other hand if the person is an exercise or workout addict, then he/she would never pass a single day or night without doing some exercise.
Present day reports and studies show that such addicts might be driven to work out and exercise even if he or she is injured or exhausted. Intense exercise addiction could be the cause for permanent damage to the physical body and in many cases the damage is overlooked by the person. Such activities and disorder makes the person relapses.
What more can be the issue if one ignores school, social work life, activities, and joyful events but spend the entire time doing some exercise in a gym. Such disordered people spend the whole time lifting weights or running in tread mills just to escape facing the real facts or problems which they need to face up in their own lives. Every addict is prone to express their own depression, fear, anger symptoms through exercise. Many gym users agree that they could not stop going to the gym even if they are in the right health condition.
Moreover researchers were not able to understand the right cause for such rigid behaviours. Exercise addiction is never to be termed as another name for over training syndrome. Healthy athletes train for peak performance and competition also suffer from over training symptoms which are the short term results for little of recovery and physical/mental rest.
Many physical trainers as well as athletes aspire to gain stamina through excellent work outs. In the due course of their commitment these athletes become completely resolved to be addicts to the exercise or trainings they undertake on a daily basis. In the process, many have lost their own individuality and failed to find a balance.
An addiction to work or exercise is not like a disease with external signs like swellings, rashes, fever but the hidden minute details syndromes makes one suffer all the more.

Exercise is good and if done in a controlled manner, it has good health benefits. On the other hand, when the very exercise that you do makes you miss having a normal life and becomes a threat to the time that you spend with family, friends and loved one, then you need to seek medical help. Learn to strike a balance. Balance is a simple term but it has got its own implications. Every one must be able to balance and handle real life situations. They must be able to look out for solutions for the trials they face in life and one must not try to take exercise as a means or mode for running or finding shelter from the real problems of life.
