What is bleeding gums?
Bleeding gums is the major gum disease which is caused by the buildup of bacteria in plaque. They are colorless layer which forms constantly on your teeth which at last affects root of your teeth causing it to hazardous bleeding. Bleeding gums even affect the bone that supports your teeth and if they are left untreated it will lead to much more serious gum diseases.
Bleeding gums are most commonly found among adult.  Bleeding gums should be detected when you start noticing symptoms which generally occur at any stages. In order to protect your gums with such major problem make yourself aware with following symptoms:

  • Gums start bleeding when you brush or rinse your mouth.
  • Gums start appearing reddish, tender or swollen.
  • Steady bad taste and bad breath.
  • Continuous secretion of pus in between your gums and teeth.

Stages of Gum diseases:
There are three types or stages of gum diseases such as Gingivitis, Periodontitis, and Advanced Periodontitis. They are caused by poor oral hygiene. Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease where you feel irritated with the gum tissue and even notice bleeding in your gums.  Periodontitis is the second stage where the fibers and the bone upholding your teeth starts damaging and your gums begin to form a pocket below the gum line. It further traps plague and food in between your gums resulting bad smell. Advanced Periodontitis is the last stage where the fibers and bones supporting your teeth is destroyed where even your teeth may need to be removed.

 
Preventive measures:
To prevent Bleeding gums you just need to clean your teeth twice a day along the gum line with a soft and small headed toothbrush.  You can even use dental floss to remove plaque between your teeth.
