Levitra is an oral therapy for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. This monohydrochloride salt of vardenafil is a selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP(cyclic Guanosine Monophosphate))-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5(Phosphodiesterase type 5)).

How does Levitra® work?

Levitra allows the muscles in the penis to relax, which allows blood to flow in, creating a firm erection.
Levitra is a phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor (PDE-5). All of these drugs function in essentially the same way. In smooth muscle cells, cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate) mediates smooth muscle relaxation. Back pain

Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take vardenafil and talk to your doctor if you experience

Flushing;
Mild dizziness;
Headache;
Nasal congestion;
Stomach upset;
Sensitivity of the eyes to light; or
Temporary blue tint in vision or other vision abnormalities.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Finding the right dose for you
Take vardenafil exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Vardenafil is usually taken when needed. Generally, it is taken about 60 minutes before sexual activity. The medication can help achieve an erection when sexual stimulation occurs. An erection will not occur just by taking a pill. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Vardenafil/Levitra should not be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Vardenafil can interact with grapefruit and grapefruit juice, and the interaction may have dangerous effects.
